Yesterday was Leonard Nimoy Day.

I, Thomas M. Menino, Mayor of the City of Boston, do hereby proclaim today, November 14, 2009 to be

Leonard Nimoy Day

in the city of Boston.

I fucking love this city, srsly <3.

This weekend I also got my nose pierced. Reactions have ranged from "You did not" to "OMG, you did not." And here I was expecting no one to care.

Pft, heterosexual 8|.

But anyways, today's the anniversary of "Amok Time" and I'd just like to take a moment to thank the late, great Theodore Sturgeon (the genius behind pon farr) for improving the lives of fangirls everywhere.

I've been at school for a little over a week now and feel as though I never left. Seriously? What is this shit? I was on break for three months! I was supposed to relax, unwind, mellow out. Obviously I did a horrible job because death seems eminent. Spontaneous human combustion, it happens. Stressed doesn't really describe it. No holds barred, I really am a horrible student.

But even with this markedly unhealthy sensation I still feel better than I did at home. Just now am I realizing how depressed I got and I'm a little surprised that a) not many people noticed, certainly not my family and that b) I didn't do anything drastic about it. And fyi, by "drastic" I mean "go on anti-depressant", which I've only just started considering anyways.

On a brighter, more fandom related note I come bearing a fantastic fanvid not of my own making:

Made by [info]xx_sorceress_xx and posted in her journal over yonder. Reposted without permission, so keep it on the dl XD, otherwise do enjoy.

Premiere of Leverage, season 2 earlier. Apparently they're setting up home base in my one true love Boston this time around. New TNT series Dark Blue also debuted. Highlighting observations? Dylan McDermott needs to fucking shave. For realz realz, it's not natural (even for a TV character) to maintain perfect 5 o'clock shadow all day long. Plus, as an added layer of hardcore, one of the shady undercover cops used to play Trey on the OC. How's that for badass?

But while watching all this bull, I finally finished archiving my claimed chunk of unfilled prompts for [info]st_xi_kink/[info]stxikinkarchive! JOYGASM!! Accomplishment-gasm?

Also, claiming for Round 12 over at [info]rounds_of_kink has officially begun. Someone's already claimed my Pike/Spock prompt! There is a srs lack of that pairing in the world, a wrong that must be rectified! Also, Spock/Chekov. I didn't think to prompt it at the time, partly because I have no idea how that relationship would actually work. I just know that someway, somehow it totally would and I refuse to be denied.

Final item on tonight(/this morning?)'s laundry list, I'm 13,000 words behind on my JulNoNovel. Balls. But I will catch up. Where there's a will there's a way. First I'll find my will, then everything else will fall into place.

So to further my pathetic attempts to avoid starting JulNoWriMo in earnest, I come bearing a mini Star Trek: The Animated Series picspam!

This series is just as cracktastic as the live action original series, but with the vaguely fucked up cartoon illustrations of LSD induced hallucinations that they didn't have the technology to recreate but for as animation.

Before you click I warn you of bad quality caps. The series was made the 70s. The quality was bad then, it's worse now. Uploading them to photobucket probably didn't help :s (ilu photobucket, keeper of my icons hoards).

Fist stop, BANNER DUMP!

Aren't they purty? They were made by [info]mickey_sixx over at [info]rounds_of_kink and given as rewards to all the good little participants. I may have bitched up a storm over proofreading and procrastination, but in the end my round 11 fics were finished and primped for last call and hell if it wasn't all good fun.

So, today was Pon Farr Day! on SciFi Channel's Star Trek: Enterprise repeats. I totally get that the ship was in crisis, what with the Captain being gone and Klingons and shit (spellcheck recognized "Klingons" as a real word), but I'm still disappointed T'pol didn't get any. One track mind I know, but what's the point of pon farr if not gratuitous smut and sexy tiems amidst inappropriate circumstances?

I feel the need to rewatch Amok Time for some pon farr done right because I'm kind of on bed rest. I can't stand for longer than five minutes without running the risk of passing out. It's not dehydration, I don't know what it is, but it's hella aggravating. Maybe WebMD will know 8|. If not, it will just give me an excuse to lay around and watch more Star Trek: TOS (cracktastic and joyous, more on that later) and read more fanfiction. So it can't all be bad, right?

Right so, it ez meh birfthday! It's official in 3 hours and 12 minutes because that's right, thanks to my loving parents I know the exact moment I was born into the world (and exactly how long my mother was in labor but that was a completely different awkward conversation).

My present to me? And you. Captain Kirk's "O" Face post Spock sponsored choke-age.

Heck yeah.

Now I'm going to try and catch some sleep (after a hard day at the porn!mill) while I listen to the next chapter of Star Trek: The Movie Tie-In as read by the fabulous Zachary Quinto :D.

Livejournal sent me a message today: "[info]psychedelicammo's birthday is coming up on June 04! " Hee, I was at least partially aware, but thanks for the reminder :D.

In other news, I picked up another prompt at [info]rounds_of_kink. This one is for the Star Trek XI, though. The others are for Heroes and I'm fucked. About a half of a Heroes prompt (I agreed to write two) is finished, it's due on the 3rd. I have a hunch that one's going to be late because I have absolutely no will to write anything that isn't Kirk/Spock. Yeah, I'm a freak. So what?

It's too good and I'm a little addicted. It's so good that Spork!love is compelling me to rotate in a new batch of icons, which is so lame it needs a cane. But I will forgive Spork. After all it is the original OTP, but more of that later. For now I leave you with this gem (Watch to the end FTW):

Now I'm gonna go back and play on [info]st_xi_kink because it's like crack and cat nip and gold all rolled up schmoopy, porntastic love.
