Muse's new album, The Resistance, is gold. Seriously, this is my fifth listen so far tonight and I'm still struck by how ridiculously good it is. I'm not a Muse fanboy, I swear, I'm just enthusiastic. It's not my fault they bleed awesome.

I just hope against hope with fingers and legs crossed that it doesn't take another two years for them to release the next album -not that I won't love them all the more in anticipation.

Also just released, from the publishers who brought us Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I've got nothing against the real works of Jane Austen, honest, but these parodies are just too good to pass up in the name of good taste.

Word on the street is they're going to make a reboot of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. Since I've actually reread some of the books this summer and rewatched the films already in existence I'm having a hard time picturing Robert Downey Jr. as Lestat. Don't get me wrong, I love him as an actor (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, yeah?), but I just can't see it yet. So I'm reserving judgement -positive or otherwise- until I hear who's playing Louis. You can't have a proper Vampire Chronicles film without Louis and all of his gorgeous angst (and yes, that's my way of saying Queen of the Damned: Epic Vampire Movie Failwhale did not count).

Season 3 of Mad Men premiered on Sunday. It was so awesome I've seen it several times since then. Cut for 3x01 spoilers. )

Through some Itunes or AMC glitch the next Mad Men episode popped up earlier tonight. Personally I'm willing to hold out until Sunday. Anticipation only adds to the sense of dramatic suspense, Captain Kirk taught me that.

I'm still a little high off that new therapist smell. They always seem so shiny and clean at first.

Anyways, I come bearing an Inglorious Basterds promo! So far it looks like typical Quentin Tarantino. Big knives, lots of violence and guns.

Oh yes, yes, yes, yes. Killin' Natzis with Brad Pitt and Co.? Calling Hitler "Uncle Adolf"?? Hella yeah. I want to see this like burning and am also looking forward to the OST.

In honor of Milo Ventimiglia's birfday I bring a bad quality short film from the 90s! Ventimiglia plays a melodramatic gay teen who wears too much make up and can't dance. But regardless he's really fucking cute, like I-want-to-pinch-your-cheeks-and-then-probably-possibly-kidnap-you cute. I first saw this months ago as a GSA meeting and had to resurrect it for the occasion. Can't resist the jailbait.

Here I am, trapped in a moving vehicle with the cutest guy I've ever seem. It's not fair. I'm dangerously close to getting into an accident just so I can throw myself on Michael a split second before we die. That would be it, the ultimate way to go. No, that would be dumb. I couldn't be found dead with my face in his lap, my parents would freak. )

You Guise! New Torchwood coming July 20th! I don't rightly know if anyone cares but -points at trailer and flails-.

Hai thar quarter second clip of Jack and Ianto making out :D. It's nice to see you again. I know where I'm going to be July 20-24 from 9-10 at night (and it won't be working on my JulNoNovel, either).

In other news, I got a delicious account. It's so cute and helpful. I'm not too savvy on the etiquette of it, though. Is it okay to tag yourself? What if somebody else tags you first and you just want to save it to be egotistical? Which reads as totally uncool on screen, but I totally want to do it anyways :s.

I finished 1 of my prompts for [info]rounds_of_kink and posted it yesterday. Now I only have 1 1/2 more prompts to fill :D. Making progress! Fandom hardcore owns my life (and I love it).

President (yo' Mama) Obama and his administration are defending DOMA in federal court. I haven't finished reading the official document yet because it started making me nauseous, but the quotes drawing a lot of airtime in this clusterfuck draw connections between incestuous and underaged marriages and same-sex marriage. Yeah, fantastic.

I'm surprised, not because I'd expected Obama to be a "fierce advocate" for LGBT rights, but I also didn't expect to get fucked over. I thought the LGBT community would just fade into the background and he'd leave us alone to push his own agenda while we pushed ours. Instead he's trampling us with DOMA, and Don't Ask Don't Tell. I'm scared of what's coming next.

So, help a movement out:

Went and saw X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The dialogue was questionable, and by questionable I mean bad. They spent to much time working on the zingers (which were admittedly decent) and not enough on the overall. They character assassinated Deadpool (Wade Wilson), I mean he had his fair share of issues in the comic, but I don't remember lobotomization being one of them (maybe I missed the issue :c). Also Wolverine (Logan) and Sabertooth (Victor) had these weird incestuous I-love-you-I-need-you vibes going on. I'm all one for incestuous codependency and am currently emoing over a pair of them, but Wolverine/Sabertooth is not one of my ships.

Speaking of ships and Wolverine... GAMBIT! Finally they had a movie with Gambit (Remy LeBeau) in it. They showed his name on the screen in the second movie and I had a fangirl meltdown. Having him on screen? Waaaay better. Taylor Kitsch's Cajun accent was a little iffy (barely existent) but I can get past that.

Truth be told, I can get past everything wrong with this movie, forget that the live action superhero genre seems to have peaked with V for Vendetta and Batman: The Dark Knight, because 1.) Taylor Kitsch (the guy who plays Gambit) is kind of attractive and 2.) Wolverine touched Gambit's bostaff FTW. By touched I mean cut in half, but whatevs, I'm not picky.

This week had so much potential to go right. I didn't realize just how much so until things started going wrong. I'm not going to recap everything because that would be a.) boring and b.) depressing.

But the first wrong turn was the Heroes season finale. It was kind of like a bullet in the brain except more emotionally taxing. I haven't been this upset over a t.v. show or its characters since the cancellation of Angel or that one time Buffy sent him to hell. It's a bad game and I don't want to play, but really can't help it. It just plain hurts.

On the up side of anger, I'm done with classes, only finals to go and I'm home free. Yeah, only finals. And now I'm gonna go back to watching a movie about a girl with teeth in her vag that chomps off guys dicks.

Yeah, you know I can totally see why KABC TV would think those promos are to provocative to air, what with all those crazy deviants playing hide the pickle, especially during the inauguration. Too many families watching.

But in all seriousness, this campaign is a gorgeous idea. I admire the participants and hope that when prop 8 next comes up for the vote it's things like this that will have tipped the balance in our favor.
